Theme: Galaxy/SpaceDid you know?
.) At the very center of the Milky Way Galaxy, right at its very core, lies a monster: a supermassive black hole.
.) Galaxies are big, and have lots of mass. If another, smaller galaxy passes too close by, the bigger galaxy can rip it to shreds and ingest its stars and gas.
.) One of the strangest things found in space is a Water Reservoir With 140 trillion times the amount of water held in the Earth’s oceans, this cloud of H2O gas is over 12 billion light years away near a black hole.
.) 55 Cancrie is an entire planet made out of diamond.
.) The Planet of Burning Ice - Although it’s 439 degrees celcius on Gliese 436 b, it’s watery surface doesn’t evaporate. Instead, the molecules pull together to form something known as “hot ice”.
.) Sagittarius B2 - consisting of ethyl formate, this is the same gas that gives raspberries their taste and rum its smell. Just in case you were wondering what the center of our galaxy smells like…
.) The castor system With six stars orbiting around a central mass, this system is over 54 times as bright as our sun.
.) Mickey mouse - that would be the mouse carved into the side of Mercury
.) A Cold star in space . Although we’re used to stars being blazing hot, scientists recently found a star that is only 89 degrees fahrenheit.
.) In space, two pieces of metal can weld together with no heat or other substances present!
Quote of the Day: "A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love."
