Did you know?
1.) The sunflower is a large inflorescence, this means the flower head is actually made of many tiny flowers called florets. Central florets look like the center of a normal flower while the outer florets look like yellow petals and together they make up a "false flower". This natural design helps insects and birds to easily see the sunflower and after pollination every little flower or floret produces a seed.
2.) Historically the rose was of great importance to the Romans and Egyptians. Romans would use them as room decorations, or wear them on string around their neck and anything which was said "under the rose" was deemed to be a secret. The famous Cleopatra of Egypt was believed to have covered the floor of her palace room with roses before Mark Antony visited her.
3.) In Russia, red tulips were used to declare romantic love, where blackish center of red tulip symbolized coal-burnt heart of the lover in the passion of love.
4.) In Asian traditions, lotus is seen as a divine symbol of purity and non attachment. Also symbolizing elegance and beauty, lotus is used in poetry and songs, allegorically for ideal female attributes.
5.) Daisies' medicinal properties include relieving indigestion, easing of cough, slowing the bleeding and easing back pain.

6.) Daffodils are cultivated for commercial use for making galantamine, a drug for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
7.) In Korea, to tell the fortune of a young girl, 3 carnations are put on her hair. If the bottom one dies first, she will have a hard life. If the middle one dies first, she will have hard times in youth but life will improve later. If the top one dies first, she will have a tough life only in the end.
8.) Titan Arum are the world’s largest flower and is almost 10 feet in height. Due to its horrible smell of rotten flesh, it is also known as corpse flower.
9.) Foxglove is a kind of pink tubular flower which derived its name from old English belief that foxes slipped into these flowers to sneak up on their prey!
10.) Tulips are the only flower that continues to grow after it has been cut. You will have to continue to cut the
stems of tulips because they will keep growing in height.
